Vehicles in German Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis show the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A senior official commented the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
