Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, producing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Emergency crews were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.

Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 calls for help across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

During the peak on the previous day, over 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.

Meteorological Predictions

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
