From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
